Yes, indeed, we are taking the Grinduro Purple Party on to the 'rindo' (rindo = gravelly forest roads of Japan). Designed and guided by RideJapan, (the foremost experts on discovering the highest quality roads in Japan with over 20years and packaging up an awesome experiences), this tour will take riders on a 7 day journey through the amazing gravel backroads of Japan.
In short, this amazing adventure begins with Grinduro in Minakami, yes, fully included in the tour, with accommodation during the event and all the trimmings that come with the perfect party-to-race ratio. After the event, we grab a bullet train and make our way south to begin our 5 day gravel cycling tour, fully inclusive of accommodation, guides, support vehicles and more.

DAY 1 - 3 OCTOBER 2025
GRINDURO DAY 1
Arrive to Minakami and join the purple party which kicks off in Minakami with music, vibes and the Schwalbe Shakedown. Get checked in to your accomodation which is included.
DAY 2 - 4 OCTOBER 2025
GRINDURO DAY 2
This is the day to test your party-to-race ratio. Grinduro Japan is 80km of up down and around the mountains of Minakami. 4 timed stages and plenty of fun on and off the bike. The party goes wild until late, so be sure to pack your dancing shoes in your kit bag.
DAY 3 - 5 OCTOBER 2025
GRINDURO DAY 3
We wind down and wrap up the Grinduro party with a chill 'Hangover Ride' in the morning. Many a sayonnara to say as you wave goodbye to many new mates. A chill afternoon to explore Minakami or put your feet up before the tour begins.
DAY 4 - 6 OCTOBER 2025
TRANSFER DAY
We say goodbye to our friends in Minakami and jump aboard the bullet train to Wakayama. We cross a large portion of Japan, passing Mt.Fuji, Kyoto and Osaka. We'll bunk in Wakayama and grab an early ferry to Tokushima and Shikoku Island the following morning.
DAY 5 - 7 OCTOBER 2025
ROAD TRIPPIN' DAY 1
TUESDAY OCTOBER 7 / Tokushima to Kamikatsu

Departing the coast we head inland and into the forest backroads. Some amazing scenery awaits as we weave our way up and down. On route today is some mild gravel to keep us honest, majestic mountains and streams, deep valleys as well as ancient shrines and new and old architecture will be reward our efforts.
DAY 6 - 8 OCTOBER 2025
Today is Shikoku Super Gravel Day. Our ride takes us deep into the interior of the island, showcasing magical views on what is possibly the longest gravel road in southern Japan. This is a challenge, but what we all love about exploring amazing landscapes on our gravel bikes.

Today takes us on a journey from the deep forested interior of eastern Shikoku toward the ruggeed coastline. SOme climbs early to keep the legs honest, but soon the glimpse of the pacific ocean will come into view as we amke our way toward the coast and the overnight in Cape Kamoda. The purple party will be in full swing as we celebrate our final night of the epic Grinduro Road Trip Tour.
DAY 8 - 10 OCTOBER 2025
Final day and a short blast up the coast as we ride through the small fishing villages and coastal bays. Before long, the deep isolation of the forest becomes the contrast that is Japan and we finish our tour back in the city of Tokushima. Your own onward travel to airport or ferry from here. Peace.
